  • You can open a fixed deposit scheme online very easily when you follow these steps: 
  • Open in your browser and login to the site by providing user id & password. 
  • Click on personal banking and then follow these steps to Open a Fixed Deposit Online. 
  • You can see e-Fixed Deposit link in the main menu. Click on this tab. 
  • After clicking on that, on the left side you can view e-TDR / e-STDR link. Click on this link. 
  • Now you can view three options – e-TDR / e-STDR(Fixed Deposit), e-TDR / e-STDR under Income Tax Saving Scheme, e-TDR / e-STDR (MOD) Multi Option Deposit. 
  • If you wish to open a normal fixed deposit, i.e. just for investment purpose, then you can click on the first option (Fixed Deposit). 
  • Then you have to provide the amount that you want to deposit in the next step. 
  • Once the amount is provided, then you can choose the term deposit option based on which the maturity option will depend. 
If you are senior citizen, do not worry. You do have an option to choose the maturity date as well. After clicking on maturity date, then click on submit button. Now you are done with the creation of fixed deposit account online. 

You are done with the Creation of Fixed Deposit in SBI Online and you can easily visit the account page details whenever you want to. The account holder can open the scheme online not only with SBI but also with any other banks like Canara, HDFC, ICICI, Andhra, IDBI, CITI, etc. The same steps can be followed to the other banks too. But make sure to have an online banking access to open the FD account.

You need not visit SBI branch either to submit the document or to deposit the money. Everything can be done online. The maturity amount shall be transferred to your savings account with which you opened your SBI FD Online.
