How to Prepare for Bank Exam: Most of the Indian Youth are enthusiastic and determined to join in Public sector Banks. Because in the present scenario IT companies are facing the problem of recession. So most of the graduates are paving the way for their career in banking sector. And also they believe that banks will provide job security when compared to jobs in other sectors.

Before going to know the answer for this question first we need to know what is the selection process. Selection Process includes written test followed by Group Discussion or Personal interview.

Pattern of the Bank Exam and Tips to Prepare for Bank Exam:

In order to test the basic aptitude and intelligence of the aspirants and also to provide competition for the aspirants from different educational backgrounds banks are conducting tests as aptitude tests. Generally bank exams consists of five sections. The sections are as follows.

1.General Knowledge
2.Quantitative Aptitude
3.Logical Reasoning
4.English Language
5.Computer Awareness

1.General Knowledge: 

Most of the aspirants feel that this section is very tough. But if we prepare in correct manner this is the most easy and scoring section. This Section includes questions of currents affairs and standard GK and the questions about Banking. To crack this section aspirants need to follow daily news paper and some of the publications like Hari haran and Arihant which provide standard GK, current affairs and information about banking. These will help in scoring maximum marks in this section.

2.Quantitative Aptitude:

This section is somewhat tough for the some of the aspirants. Because most of the aspirants are from science background and they don’t have mathematics in their academics. So they feel difficulty in this section. But there are some books like R S Agarwal which will provide basics and help in scoring cut-off marks. If we practice more we will get good score rather than cut-off marks. This section include questions from simplification, Data Interpretation, Ages, Profit and Loss, Averages etc.

3.Logical Reasoning:

This section tests our analytical logical reasoning skills. And this section is very easy and high scoring section. This section include questions from arrangements, Syllogism, Data Sufficiency, Coding and Decoding etc.

4.English Language:

This section is also called Verbal Ability. This section tests our English language skills and vocabulary. So you need to have good grammar and vocabulary basics. And also we should have good reading habbit. So that we can easily understands the information and answer the questions asked in the exam. This section include questions from reading comprehension, sentence correction, close tests, Errors in usage etc.

5.Computer Awareness:

This section tests our knowledge about computers. This section include basic questions about computers, operating systems etc.

How to Prepare for the Exam:

  • Whatever be the mode of preparing, personal effort is very much required as the competition is high. 
  • Understand the exam pattern and frame shortcuts or easy methods for answering the question in a given time.
  • Regular practice will boost our confidence level attend the exam without fear.
  • The more you practice the better are the chances of scoring good marks in the examination.

After clearing the written test, candidates may have Group Discussion followed by personal interview. Those candidats who have crossed final cutoff marks will get provisional allotment.
